Nadreck.ComNadreck's First Stampede

Last half mile of the trail ride on July 3rd 2005

I found it an incredible juxtaposition to see so many riderless horses being herded through my inner city neighborhood. Sadly this event was not organized well enough as 9 horses were killed after they stampeded a few miles out from where I live and took these pictures. The horses were spooked by a train and stampeded forward over a bridge and a few fell off the bridge. While there was a full complement of experienced trail riders there were many riders who paid $15,000 to participate including a former Ontario Premier. I do wonder how much experience anyone had with herding horses along big city streets.
